Se7en is a conceptual faucet for my Sophomore Industrial Design Studio final (2013). The assignment: redesign a kitchen or bathroom faucet, either with a single or double handle layout.
Required components for the final included a written essay outlining the design, materials, and manufacturing process; 2D/3D sketches; and a final polished scale model. My response is a double-handle bathroom fixture, constructed primarily out of extruded and milled 6063 H2 Aluminium and Nylon.
The white model is composed of HDPE modeling foam, wood, and latex paint. It is built to a 1:1 scale, and represents a poised but explicit form. Modern manufacturing processes, material and resource conservation were the primary principles guiding my design.
The fixture fits any 4” center set sink or countertop, and is mounted on an Aluminium base. A lack of Brass means the fixture is easier to maintain and has a longer lifespan.
